Friday Adrienne and I drove to a park and ride, and took a double-decker bus to Cambridge. Besides being home to the famous Cambridge University, I didn't know a whole lot about this city. This picture shows the King's College Chapel which was built by Henry VI. The first stone was laid in 1446 and the chapel was completed in 1516. (So if you think the CHW construction is moving slowly, think again!)

Cambridge is home to Trinity College where Chariots of Fire was filmed. This college is also the home of the Wren Library which holds over 2500 manuscripts, including AA Milne's original Winnie the Pooh. Both he and his son Cristopher Robin were graduates of Trinity College.

One of the best ways to tour Cambridge is by punting. Punting involves riding in a small narrow boat along the River Cam. It looks similar to a gondola, but instead of paddling, you push the boat using a long paddle. It was kind of chilly and we really wanted to stay dry, so we opted to walk instead.
